I think thats a good low cost option for building a hotwire:
it's a WF500 bulb i put into a PR base. Very simple mod and the results are pretty good i think (especially because the bulb is only 4,56USD at DX)

The bulb is not as bright as the 5761 but has a very nice beam, i would estimate it produces about 400-450 lumens with two li-ion cells.
