Hay all!!! I stumbled across these forums when I became sort of a "flashlight junkie", and was looking for a nice bright flashlight. All I can say is ... I'm speechless at what I've been seeing as far as posts by owners of different flashlights, and even some of the "beamshot photos" (new in my vocab')... Everything here is very helpful, and I have learned quite a bit of info on different equipment and their uses.

Just as a brief quick intro... I'm a tractor trailer driver making a nightly run which is 338 miles round trip 5 nights/week. My drop point involves a "truckstop" that is kinda dark, and has a few "things" I don't consider favorable when it comes to safety. I use a Streamlight UltraStinger and a Streamlight Tasklight 3AA LED. I also have a Maglite 4 cell D and a Mini-mag 3AA, but I use the Streamlights as my primaries, and use the Mag's for different uses at home.

I mostly interact with drivers, and I get LOTS of compliments on my light, but once in a while, one will actually question whether I really need something "that bright", and those are the ones with the "Everedy 2 cell light.

One thing I know is on my side is that when some of the "elements" are present, I keep my UltraStinger handy. At one point during my run, it actually saved me from a situation that was a potential threat, and I was able to deter an "element" from going further with an agenda he had in mind. Noone got hurt, and no crimes were committed, and everyone went home and LHEA!:naughty:

Now that I have that out of the way, I will start out by saying that I am of course interested in some of the more powerful HID flashlights, but I still have lots to learn about them, so I intend to come back here many times in the future to not only lurk. One thing I have observed for sure is that they keep getting brighter and brighter.

Thanks again for these forums!

Erik.

Welcome to CPF!

I'm sure you will have a great time here, with the lights you have you are already a flashaholic!

If you want the next step in bright lights then you should get a 1 million (or more) candlepower spotlight, you will be very impressed with it.

Welcome on CPF
You can get cheap 35w HIDs that put out 3000 lumens nowadays, but when you'll reach the master flashaholic level you'll might want to mount a vss1 tank searchlight on your truck

:welcome:

It's good to see another light enthusiast here. I became a "Lumen Junkie" myself after hanging out here on these forums for just a few weeks !
