A 6D Maglite would be the smallest light that comes to mind.

I have one of those. I wish it was a better colour tho.

For those folks out there who carry incans for a daily edc, do you carry spare lamps in case yours burns out? Or do you carry a spare flashlight?

Carrying a spare light just makes sense. Whether it's inca. or LED.

I hate to admit that I always backup EDC a small LED when I use my incands which I prefer. Actually have NEVER had an incan bulb burn out while using...in part because I know the life of the bulbs from all the destructive tests I did.

I rarely bring a spare lamp assembly while out and about. Only once could I have used one when I had a lamp burn out last week, but I had another light on me so it was no biggie. I always have an led light from surefire, malkoff, or elzetta that can be counted on for potentially critical situations.

Sometimes I would like an incan only world, but modern times don't allow it.

I don't think many carry incans for edc but I use to carry a e2e at work before this stupid LED fad and I never carried a spare bulb. I think I would have to put a nice one in each 3-4 months.

Did you ever have lamps fry on you in the middle of needing them?

If it makes anyone feel better.... The LED in my favorite Klarus flashlight burnt out. Even made a topic about it. Oddly, it still worked though. Just had an ugly donut hole in the center and the flashlight heated up WAY too quickly. For safety sake's I properly disposed of both the light and the 18650 inside of it. Replaced it with a Limited Edition Acebeam Defender P16 model.

Did once end up with a completely DOA SureFire G2 about 20 years ago?? Yeah, sounds about right. But my other almost two dozen SureFires.... Yeah, they all still work.

My old trusty TL-2 today. I just learned the hard way that it has a spare lamp in the head. I put in some rechargeable 123's and "pop". That lamp has been in there since new in 2004.

Just cobbled this sucker together. Always wanted an E1E but never managed to get one.
I’ve currently got a stock E2E with a Tad 3712 and now this:

E1D LED body with Lumens factory tail shroud on Surefire tail cap with McClicky, Lumens Factory E1 head with their 50 lumen bulb.
Also installed a freeby titanium pocket clip that I’ve already had to reshape after bending it half an hour into using it.
Can’t complain though, I like the clip, and it did say ‘light duty use only’ or something like that on the bag. And it was free of course.

Before I finished this light I tried it without the tail shroud and found it hard to handle with the light being so tiny with an incan E head. Not really a problem with a bulky LED head.
The tail shroud makes a huge difference for me handling wise. Although you have to poke your thumb right down in there to activate the switch.
Could benefit from a taller boot with a nub inside to close the gap to the switch for an overall taller switch.

I’ve got a shroud on my G4. They are about as old school cool as it gets. Help with cigar hold as well.

My 6P Led with M61 and Rift auto for now. I have focused on EDC all summer. After trying a number of different lights and drop-ins for various reasons this has been the winning combo. My only thought now is possibly a M61T for more throw.
