are you using to charge 9 14500 battery holders like the ones used in a 3D Mag Light? What do you recomend?

Do you just have NiMh in the carrier? I'm hoping so as 9 Li-Ion is little crazy. Anyway, there are some pack smart chargers that would work, but the best option would be to get a hobby charger.

Yes I would like to charge all of them at the same time while in the carrier. What would be your favorate charger for this?

how much are you willing to spend? You could get a fairly cheap "smart charger" that would charge a NiMh pack, or spend a little more and get a hobby charger that you could charge all kinds of batteries with.

Is there a balancing plug for your holder? If there isn't one, forget about charging it without taking all the cells out. Series charging Li ions without a balancing charger is far too dangerous.

My mistake. I will be using NiMh batterys. The Tenergy 7.2-12v universal charger for 6-10 cells in series looks like what I need.

I think that this is much better! So much versatility for the price! You can use it to charge NiCd, NiMH, Li-ion, LiFePO4 & Pb. With 0.1A to 5.0A charging rates you can use it to charge 10440 cells and smaller as well as D cells. The only thing is that you will need a 12V power source that can handle up to 5 amps - but an old PC PSU (short green to black from M/Board connector and take power from yellow wires) lying around could easily do the job.

I bought one a few weeks ago and I love it. Mine is currently cycling an AA NiMH that had reverse charged when it was in a pack, the capacity is coming back up nicely. I have used it to charge various batteries - I have NiCd, NiMH & Li-ion cells galore including AAA, AA, D, 14500, 16340, 18650, IMR 18650, IMR 26500 and 32600. I am also thinking about buying some LiFePO4 16340 cells for my Surefire A2 and it is good to know that my charger can handle those too.

I have the Tenergy smart charger mentioned above and Titanium 2700 AA batterys. I have all 9 ea. of them in a FM holder while charging as recommeded. With the charger set on 2a. current for 1.6-30 ah is this too fast? It is going into trickle charge before charging 45 mins.
Edit: The batterys only get luke warm while charging and end up at 12.44v.

I believe 2a. with this charger may be too much for this battery pack. The charger was terminating the charge before the batterys were fully charged giving me about 10 mins run time. I now have them charging at 1a. and I can see a differance. The batterys are much warmer "not hot" and the voltage is hanging arround 13.61v. while charging. Before at 2a. the charging voltage was much higher. We'll see how well they get charged this time.
Edit: Well the charger has went into trickle charge after only charging arround 40 mins and is holding the volts arround 12.45v. The green light is on indicating the batterys are fully charged.

It sounds like the batteries had no problems with the 2A, but the charger wasn't detecting the status right and terminating early. But if 1A works better than the easiest thing to do is charge at 1A.

I may just let the battery pack stay on trickle charge over night and see if the batterys get fully charged. 10 mins run time isn't going to cut it.

Edit: I decided against letting them trickle charge over night. The last charge was the 3rd charge and definitly got more into the batterys this time. The light is brighter and I have been able to run it more than twice as long as the charge before and it hasn't gotten weak yet. It looks like these batterys are just stubborn and may take a few charging cycles to come up to full charge. I'm new to these kind of batterys in a flashlight.

I believe I found the reason I'm having charging problems. The charging plug that came with the battery holder or the batterys may have been loosing contact while charging and causing the early termination. I snugged up the battery pack and used the aligator clips insted of the plug. This time I got about 1.5hrs. charging time before termination.
