That’s in true flashaholic fashion. When I had all my HDS lights I did the same thing with other brands. I know there’s no science to doing it that way and the eyes can barely discern the difference of outputs to a degree but it made me happy.

Most common folks I deal with throughout my shift are college students. Most of the time it is education rather than enforcement. It doesnt change how I feel about wearing a vest, but your mileage may vary.

Some people like to complain because they're miserable excuses for human-beings, and want others to be miserable. Others do so in order to make themselves look good to their superiors. Got a message at the start of last night's shift from one of my supervisors. One of the client's tenants asking if security is doing their job properly and checking to make sure no one is trespassing inside their business, at night. Really?!

For clarification, their business has no doors to lock. What they do have is a skeletonized, sliding metal gate with a padlock on it! Also, the business is across the hall from the Security desk within my line of sight. I look up from the desk, I can literally see the gate! No obstructions in the way. Keep in mind, I'm the one constantly kicking trespassers out of the large parking lot outside the client's building, but still part of his property.

Yes, if a trespasser manages to get inside, I pat him on the back for a job well done. Massage his feet. And let him sleep 'til the Sun comes up inside that particular client's business. Magically picking the padlock I don't have the key for.

So, because I know where the cameras are located (and which ones actually work), walked up to the skeletonized gate, and shined my Thrunite TT20 inside on Turbo mode. If a rated 2526 lumens couldn't detect someone sleeping inside, then I guess we're good!

Used my PT Apex headlamp to roll the trash dumpster out to the road tonight. Used a cheap Chinese shower head 3xAAA light to illuminate the cleanout cap on the kitchen drain pipe. Spotted a big ol' spider on the cap, challenging me. I blinded the arachnid with science, and then, I squashed it! Huh! Uppity arachnid. See, Monocrom, that's how I deal with trespassers!

I used my years-old SF P2X to look for a spare 3hp electric motor on our dimly lit store room. I later found out that the spare motor had already been previously used on a separate machine.

I dropped another tiny black screw on the floor again today. I got on my knees with my PD36R and found it. Then I immediately dropped it and lost it again. Back on my knees with the light, and this time I found a different screw but not the one I was looking for. The universe is laughing at me today.

I used my Surefire M2 (original production run)/Malkoff M61 (2014ish) to show co-workers why they needed a flashlight. Explained why their cell phone lights were a terrible idea (someone thinks you're recording them at a scene etc).
Spent some time sounding smarter than I am on the backs of you guys here at the forum. So thanks to all of you.

Back on topic: Used my new Convoy S3 to check the ink level on one of my pens. The ink cartridge isn't transparent on it, so I need to feed it some extra light from the rear opening to make the plastic translucent and the ink mark visible.

A cell phone flashlight is better than nothing but not by much. It's great for reading a tiny label in a dark area but it's far too floody for almost anything else. Good for you for educating your co-workers. They'll thank you the next time the power goes out.

In the past few days everyone around me is using lights and I work a lot that I don't have much time to play with lights.

My friend uses some china 4 x 18650 light to blind a possum and remove it from his house with a grabber. Then I see a taxi driver with what I'm guessing was a Coast. I ask him about it and he says it is a Maglite. Yeah right! Then I get home at midnight and the neighbours are playing with some flashlights outside. But I'm thinking of getting some Maglite accessories on the next paycheque.

I was standing in front of a full sized POV display recently (think "life-sized hologram") and I wanted to see thru the projected image to the spinning LED fans behind it. So I turned on my PD36R and aimed it at the center of the display - nothing. The LEDs on the display were just too bright. I kept ramping up the brightness setting on my light until I hit the highest setting, and this was barely able to punch through the displayed image to reveal the spinning fans behind it. This made for an interesting visual, pulling back the curtain on how the image was being produced.

Fortunately small caliber holes aren't too difficult to repair. For the arachnids, I use a Ruger Mark IV Competition Slab Side in stainless w/ 2X Leupold scope w/ duplex reticle sighted in for close work. Hand-held flashlight. One shot - one kill.;-)
