What did you use your flashlight for today?

Installing a small second-hand wheelchair lift for a family member to get access to their house. (They had a stroke) The electrics were completely hashed up by the last guy, so I ended up rewiring the whole thing to make it work properly. Took a while, but it works perfectly now. Got it all positioned and anchored and levelled while the rain came down and darkness fell. We were grateful for the good light from my Elzetta Bravo.
Very sorry to hear about your family member.

Very sorry to hear about your family member.
Thanks Mono. To be perfectly honest this family member has been plain awful to us over many years, and although they're comfortable, they likely won't live long now. The broken relationship is what is really saddening. Hopefully little actions of kindness and love like this will get through though. :)

Used my Red LED Convoy Z1 to enhance a skin & joint peptide {GHK-cu}.
It worked well when zoomed in to concentrate the beam.
Playing Pickleball 3 times a week sometimes gives me a sore elbow, & the Red light & peptide eliminate the soreness.

My corded mouse stopped working.
Grabbed my Husky 4AA LED flashlight that lives above my desk at home. Put plenty of light back there and started tightening all of the plugs in back of my tower. Mouse came to life again.

You should have found a cat to fix it. (Sorry, I couldn't resist.)

Accidentally blinded myself.. with my new Acebeam Rider Rx titanium.

Clicked it on,and aimed 700 lumens of full blast light toward my bathroom mirror,in the dark. Ow.
That's okay, after a few more times, you'll subconsciously learn not to aim the bezel at your own face. We've all been there, all of us have learned.

Wish I could tell you guys what flashlight the rookie officer was using when he pulled me over last night for speeding on the expressway. But when I used my turn-signal to pulled over, I lowered my window, switched on the dome-light, put my hazards on, and placed both my hands on top of my steering wheel. So, didn't get a high lumen light shined in my face. More than likely he was carrying some sort of LED Maglite, or Streamlight model on his waist.

Sorry guys, nothing exciting took place. I'm not part of New York's Underground Street racing scene. But if you look on YouTube, you'll find those idiots happily letting themselves, their faces, actual names, and their rides get filmed; all while letting themselves be recorded committing felonies. You're not going to see any Honda Civics with large spoilers and neon-paint jobs. We're talking barely street-legal racing version of BMW's more exotic models and other exotic cars too. Including Ferrari, and other such makes. Cars look great, drivers are rich, bored, idiots or their immature adult children.

I was running late to work, went a few miles over the Limit to make up time. (Be honest, we've all done that once in awhile.) Rookie officer was in a hidden out-of-the-way spot where they never park their patrol cars. Oh well, got pulled over. No big deal. Everything about my ride is legal/up to date. Rookie was very professional, to the point of being robotic. Treat an officer with respect, he'll treat you the same way. Couple of minutes later, back on the expressway. Yeah, guilty! I'll just pay the ticket by mail and move on. That was the most exciting thing that happened to me last night. For all you car nuts, he was driving a marked Dodge Charger. First ticket in almost 15 years. First speeding ticket in about 20 years.

Dang. The worst part about getting a ticket is having to think about it for the rest of the day.

Shame. A clean record is good thing. It always stings when you get pinged. Problem is, like you said, we've all done it once in a while.
I've been driving trucks and machinery since age 13, and got my first licence on my birthday, basically the minute it was legal to apply. Travelled million(s?) of kms, done all sorts of silly things, lived to tell the tale, and still only have one speeding ticket to my name - and it still stings: 91kph in a 90kph zone. ONE MEASLEY km over, in a month when they did a so-called "zero tolerance" speeding enforcement thing.
Oh well, I have travelled fast enough to lose my licence altogether in my slightly younger, debatably slightly more foolish years...
I think we all have a ticket coming our way every once in a while!
Glad to hear you handled it with professionalism and thoughtfulness as usual.

Yup, that too.
Though traffic stop could have gone worse.
Still it was clear that once he blatantly established I wasn't drunk on a Friday night, he just wanted to issue the ticket and end the traffic stop even faster than I did.

Thank you, I appreciate that. One thing about the NYPD, they want to make sure they have a rock-solid case in court if a driver insists on going to court over a ticket. Yeah, one mile (or one km) over the limit; they're not going to bother issuing a ticket. Sorry to hear that you got such a silly Zero Tolerance ticket. Only Zero Tolerance that's a good thing is the knife brand.

Last week on a whim I bought a 500 lumen rechargeable COB light at harbor freight. Today, I had to set up my saws in a customer's inadequately lit garage. That COB light was invaluable as I used its tail magnet to hang it above the table saw off of a metal junction box. Nice floody light exactly where needed.

Just got power back on after a public safety power outage since Monday at 5 p.m.. Lights got a lot of use. 12 volt Milwaukee lantern was used to light up bathroom on low 24/7. 18 volt Milwaukee lantern was used on low to light up staircase at night. Ryobi 18 volt floodlight was used to light up living room. 5000 lumen Infinity X1 flashlight was used to light up bedroom on low tailstanding. After that shut off, a Duracell 2000 lumen solar 26650/4D lantern and a few Goal Zero lanterns were used (Lighthouse 250, Lighthouse Mini, Lighthouse Micro). Warmer white light is nicer to sleep under. Nitecore HC60 v.2 and NU 25 UL headlights were used to get around. Fenix PD30 R4 was in pocket whenever needed. I kept a lot of lights and batteries in reserve in case the outage lasted longer. The last day was cloudy and solar power was limited. Reports had said some areas of town might not get power for two more days.

Powering everything back up, I used an Oupes Exodus 600 power station run off a 60 watt Rich Solar panel with Anderson to 8mm connector. Also had an old 45 watt Harbor Freight solar system charging a 12 volt deep cycle battery to charge the 18 volt Ryobi batteries with a 12 volt charger. The 12 and 18 volt Milwaukee's got charged with the Oupes. Have an off brand 12 volt charger for the 18 volt batteries for less conversion loss (don't need the inverter). The 12 volt Milwaukee A/C charger only pulled about 30 watts.

Running the refrigerator took a 1600 watt Firman generator which was also charging a lithium iron phosphate battery. A 1500 watt inverter was used with the battery so I could shut my door at night and not have to keep it open for a power cord. It's cold at night with no heat. Slept under a sleeping bag with a $10 Walmart electric handwarmer/powerbank.

Power had gone out on Monday minutes after ordering a Simzlife low wattage 12/24 volt, 120/240 volt electric cooler for $100 from Walmart that would have worked off of the Oupes power station. I guess I'll be better prepared the next time. I only burned through about a gallon and a half of gas for this blackout and had just a text that morning saying our power might be shut off sometime. We get those texts all the time and either nothing happens, or the area is limited to somewhere else. At least I had a two gallon gas can full, because everyplace but one gas station in town was shut down (the one had a generator).

I've actually never heard of a Public Safety Power outage.
Is that common in more rural parts of America?
