What did you use your flashlight for today?

Got an Osram W1 Green on the secondary channel in my Emisar Noctigon K9.3, and I used that when I went for a walk last night / early morning (was past midnight when I got home and turned the light off, so technically it was today xD).

Didn't quite trust the battery status, so I brought my Fenix HP30R v2 headlamp as a backup, but it wasn't needed.

Every night when I wind down and am on my laptop for CPF, news, or general internet surfing, I ceiling bounce one of my ML50L MagLites in either 2C or 3C configuration. These include two 2C (black, blue), three 3C (two gloss black, one in 611 lumens spec, one in 705 lumen spec, and one in ML50LX black in 611 lumen spec). Also in the ceiling bounce gang are two modern MagChargers (matte black) in 2C and 3C.

The other night I used a NOS 2C incan with a 3 cell bulb and one of XXO's 2C to 18650 adapter and run that bulb for a couple hours.

All of my MagLites (incandescent and LED) have UCL lenses. Really cool to have UCL lenses, makes them feel just that more special when I see the color glass ✌️

I used my PD36R to inspect the underside of a coffee machine at work. It has an optical sensor that looks for the presence of a cup before it will dispense liquid, and it doesn't work with some darker mugs because it doesn't see enough reflection from it's IR LED, making it think that no cup is present. I wanted to eyeball this sensor to get a better understanding of exactly where it is, how big the lenses are, etc.

Does it count if it's in a dream?.... At work, short hallway leading to the Men's room became pitch-black. Reached into my pocket, pulled out my Weltool T2 Tac model and lit up the short hallway, with a sickly yellow, very inadequate beam. Then the completely black demon tried to grab me. Woke up then. In fairness the T2 is a much better light than that.

You know you're at a job way too long when you dream about being there on your night off. 🙁

In the battle against my ever-widening 5-decades-old dadbod, I grabbed my Novatac to guide my way down the stairs to the ole' treadmill to do my 20-minute mile at o-dark thirty this morning.

- Novatac 85T modded with XP-G2 and 250-click hacked for programming mode.
- Lanyard ring and paracord lanyard.

My Epson printer jammed in the back while printing a job. My work area is dimly lit, so I illuminated the back of the printer with my Mini Maglite Pro+ while clearing the jam and replacing the rear panel. That's what I get for using cheap copy paper. I guess the Epson didn't like the taste, and choked on it. :barf::awman:💩🔦🆗

I was at the "orange" DIY store today, looking for a specific type of stainless steel screw. The fastener wall used to be lit up, but apparently the bean counters decided to shave a few dollars off their electric bill and turned off the display lights. Now the display is in a deep shadow and very difficult to read. So I pulled out my PD36R to illuminate the package labels. It was embarrassing that I had to do that though.
😡

Is your printer named dwight, and does he also taste dirt?

Ironically, I was at the location of one of its many clones early this morning. Picking up a couple of things. Don't feel embarrassed at all. You did what you needed to do. Hopefully a manager saw that, and mentioned that a customer had to use their own flashlight for the task. Maybe later on they'll turn the lights back on.

Thanks Monocrom. Hopefully their loss prevention officer noticed a sudden blast of light in the fastener aisle on their cameras, thought "WTH was that?!!" and mentioned it to management.

For the mic, you should've announced the technique, like all the dramatic cartoons do..."TURBO....NOVA.....CANNONNNNN!"

You probably would've generated some level of staff expediency.

Popped my Powertac Sabre 2AAA model in my mouth. Used the lower setting to illuminate my work, as I changed a watch-strap. Thankfully both straps were the newer quick release variety. So just needed my EDC Titanium prybar to take off one strap. (Didn't need extra light for that.) And, to put on the new strap. (That one definitely required some extra light.) Needed both hands for the strap changes. No worries, I don't loan out my favorite lights to anyone.

Stripped and rebuilt a laundry tub mixer, probably from the 60s or 70s. It was all gummed up with limescale, but not very corroded and pretty good condition, all things considered. Solid brass throughout and solidly built. The power was out, so I ended up burning through an entire 18650 in my Elzetta bravo, as well as about half a 26650 in the big Foursevens Maelstrom.
Everything sealed up nicely. Sure beats buying a new tap set for $1000, which I know will only last a few years at the most.

I think I'll keep my taps from 1962.

Used a couple of lights with 3300K, 4000K, 4500K, 5000K and 5700K to visually determine what temperature the LEDs in the new lighting at a local grocery store were. Some of the marketers on the Internet thought that warm light with improved color rendering would help to better sell vegetables, fruits, products, etc. and generally create a friendlier atmosphere. There is no PWM, which is strange, usually they take the cheapest one. A mini-test showed that the lamps are about 3500K, the CRI is about 80-85, definitely not 90. Now I feel like sleeping in this store, the lighting is too relaxing
