What did you use your flashlight for today?

Ya gotta watch ol' @PhotonWrangler, 'cause he can get a little techy on you sometimes if you ain't careful; however, I can help with the translation:

A MOSFET is just a 'metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistor' and is actually pretty basic stuff. Although it sounds rather exotic, it's really just a type of transistor that acts a little like a tube, but doesn't get as hot. A MOBO fastener, however is a different kind of animal, and is actually rather technically complex. It's used to attach a very specialized type of MOFO that's found only in fairly advanced electronic equipment.

See, that wasn't so bad🙂
It sure wasn't bad...but I confess that only after I looked those terms up last night.

I seriously admire folks like you who actually know how to fix that stuff. I've never heard of "mosfet" and "mobo fasteners" (for all I know, you could be making those words up and I wouldn't know any better). I just know that stuff doesn't work very well when you let the smoke out of it. You have to keep the smoke inside for it to work. 😉
Lol, the old magic smoke. Most electronic things stop working if you let the smoke get out. In this case it got out! 😉

That's a great description. It's biased like a vacuum tube, is voltage-operated rather than current-operated like traditional junction transistors, and fortunately doesn't need hundreds of volts to work! If I had a nickel for every time I got a shock from a vacuum tube power supply, I'd be driving a Porsche.

Last night I used my ZL H600fc to help clean my fish tank. I had been neglecting it- my kids are supposed to be responsible for it but the cleaning somehow became my responsibility.

You just said it was your fish tank ("...clean my fish tank"). So, if it is your fish tank, then it is your responsibility. Your kids know that. You should give the kids the fish tank, make it theirs, if you want them to be responsible for the cleaning. But then, you will have to give them the ZL H600fc, too!:poke::crackup:

They already use my lights but they know to put them back when they are done.

I tried to make it their responsibility but you know the adage about breaking a dish while washing them so the wife won't let you wash them again? They made an absolute mess the first time they tried to clean it so it became my responsibility. Smart move on their part lol

Video home inspection review with out of state buyer today. Not sure what happened to my Weltool T2 which is normally attached to my back pack and fortunately did not need much light as my edc for today was the semi worthless TS10.
As they say the best torch is the one you have with you!
Might not get any sleep tonight as the whereabouts of my T2 is going to drive me bonkers.

Used my Elzetta Bravo and Eskte H150 to disassemble the back of my truck and diagnose a faulty trailer light driver that took out all the lights on the trailer. Took four hours to sort out. Hooray for spare batteries and good tools, but we weren't home until very late. (early)

Vehicle wiring is such a PITA
