I've been wondering this myself. I've heard some snippets of info on Inova and Streamlight, but where is Fenix? Did they have a booth? New models? I was excited to see what they would bring to the table.
I mentioned this in the Surefire Shot Show thread, but didn't get much of a response. As far as I know Inova and Streamlight had a few new lights, but nothing to really write home about. LED Lenser (Coast) had some really nice stuff according to MattK. They are putting Crees or Nichia DS in there new lineup. The only problem is that they are still staying with the 3AAA/4AAA (direct drive) plus a battery carrier on most of their lights.
I'm kinda bummed, i was really counting on Inova upping the ante, raising the bar,re-defining parameters, rejecting convention and conformity, shattering pre-conceptions, pushing the envelope, breaking the mold, "exploring strange new worlds, boldy going where........" :shakehead
Insight (OEM manufacturer of the Gladius) had a 170 lumen version on display, one of which was painted metallic red. Maglite was supposedly going Cree and building a new light from the ground up but I'll believe it when I see it. I haven't seen any news on it. I haven't seen much news on anything. I do not believe Fenix was at the show.
I don't know if they were at the show or not...but I have heard that UK is coming out with a new 4AA light with a newer gen led. I also have heard that the Rebel led's recall problems might delay some other USA made lights coming out a little bit. That's a shame..... It would be nice to see PT, UK (and Pelican other than the 7060) step into the 21st century with the rest of the world.
I'm sure the super-tac is a fine light, but i'm gonna predict that it's horrifically goofy looks are going to minimze its success,at least around here. We'll see.
I can recall Matt from Battery Junction saying the SL Taclight was less powerful than the smaller MRVs, so it probably won't be such a big hit around here.
