I've noticed that I've heard virtually nothing about Luxeon LEDs in recent times, just Cree, Luminus, Seoul and Osram, (and Osram in just one light). What ever happened to Luxeon LEDs?

They're still producing the Rebel line-up, but haven't announced any new products in a good while.

The last announcement from them I saw was that they were discontinuing the K2.

I guess the easy way would be to visit the web site for proper information. www.lumileds.com Lumileds has been partially owned by Philips for years, and eventually they bought all of it.

Like any technology product, progress moves on, and older products are phased out, while new ones are phased in. Anyone still ordering Pentium 1s?

The Rebel is Lumileds primary product line, and it is quite a large family of products.

The K2s are quite a nice product, and to my dismay were discontinued for production volume reasons (they needed the capacity for Rebels). There are plenty of them around still in stock at various places.

Looks like they have given up.

I like the rebel 100, but looking for a %50 jump.
