Just curious; exactly which flashlights are you giving for Christmas?
Here's my list, which includes gifts for my siblings, one parent, nephews, coworkers, my supervisor, in-laws, some friends, and some were donated to Toys for Tots, a program for collecting toys to be given to needy children in my area. It's run by the U.S. Marine Reserves, and they distribute several hundred thousand gifts each Christmas, just in my area. (The CMG Infinities went to Toys for Tots, since they are so inexpensive to operate). I included 2 lithium AA batteries with each one.:
3 EternaLight Ergo 3's, white.
2 Turquoise CMG Infinities.
2 Underwater Kinetics 4AA.
4 Photon 2's, white.
1 Coleman twin tube fluorescent lantern.
1 Energizer Folding Led light.
1 Princeton Tec 40.
1 (Silver) AA Mini Maglight
1 (Silver) 2D Maglite
1 Lightwave Pocket Bright, white.
I started buying these flashlights about mid summer. Many came from eBay, which explains the odd mix of lights.
Some of them came from botachtactical.com, before I found out they have gone over to the Dark Side. (They won't be getting any more of my money!) But they were very cheap on a few lights.
I think if I had made up a list, and made one ( or two) orders to brightguy.com, I'd have saved a *lot* of money. There would be less variety, but I shudder to think at all the money I spent on shipping, buying from eBay.
Still, I got the 3 EternaLights for around $33/ea, including shipping, which is pretty good. Whhen I bought them, they were only avaiable from Technology Associates, at $60, or on eBay. They have come down quite a bit in price from the summer.
*Many* of my purchases were made as a direct result of first learning about a light, here on CPF.
I have always given a few flashlights for Christmas, but I have never managed to make *all* of my gifts flashlights. Thanks to all CPF contributors for the many helpful comments, insights, recommendations, and reviews on the flashlights I have purchased both for myself, and as gifts.
May all of your Christmases be full of warmth
light(s)!
