I have a Nitecore HC90. It is a great headlamp, but I am looking for something with more output. How many more lumens would a headlamp have to have to actually notice a difference?

I think rule is about four times the output boost to see a double in light output.
Steep.
Maybe best to strap another one on, it does add up, but does not increase range. Or a handheld blaster. Idk.
Hope that helps with a part of your question.

The Acebeam H10 has a "boost" mode that is rated at 2000 lumens. It is only momentary. You have to press and hold the switch to get the boost. The highest regular mode is 1000 lumens. I have not seen any runtime charts for the H10, so I do not know how long it will hold 1000 lumens. Heat is a real problem with any of these small 1x18650 headlamps.

I have never tried the H10, so I cannot give it a personal recommendation.
