What is a pill?

Sorry, I tried looking at the "welcom mat" but couldn't find it.. What part of the module is the "pill" and "rim"?

Yeah, i too wonder what a pill is. I know what reflectors, emitters, circuit boards, lenses and so on is, I even changed some of them in some lights. But what is this pills everyone is talking about??
Why would you put pills in your flashlights? I use batteries

The pill is the brass part(LED + driver + spring), the module is the pill + reflector(the pill screws into the reflector).

That's funny. Here I though a pill was a 5mm LED "bulb" because it is shaped like a pill. That's what I always thought it was. I now stand corrected!
