What is the best looking and best performing neck wear light?

How do you find the drake/draco's waterproof ability? The o-rings to my drake seem quite thin and slim...
The Draco in the picture was in the hot springs for up to a couple hours at a time with never a leak. It goes without saying the light wasn't under water all the time but I got it last February and snow is on the ground here at the resort until mid-April, so I spent a lot of time hunkered down in the water, not to mention that I do most of my back and forth in the rock lake underwater.

I've had my Drake out there a couple times and the first time out it got misty for a few days, but hasn't done it again since, so I have no idea what happened.

My TiCN Draco has logged a lot of time in the water too and no problems with it whatsoever.

Why don't post your Drake when you get a picture or two.

I don't understand why it seems that there are so many who seem to prefer the Wee over the Drake even though they are both made by CPF'ers, both use the same battery, have the same top output.

However the Drake has two other levels, which you never have to see if you don't want to, due to the memory function. It's also marginally slimmer, at least on the back end.

I guess not enough of them have tried one? (I used this icon twice in one post!)

I would vote for Drake or Lummi Wee.

All other lights are either too large for neck or too dim.

Just sent in my PayPal for an all-Ti mini Taglight from Sabrewolf...

I've just gotten a canon powershot s90. Still learning the functions with it, need to find nicer back drops for the photos too...

Why not much mention of the 4sevens Mini Titanium it uses easily enough available c123 and is only 2.3 inches long?
It is one of my favorite lights in the universe and is my keychain EDC... that said, I agree with Outdoors Fanatic: for me at least, it is much to big to be worn around the neck at all times. Lanyard carry at work or around the house would be fine, but at least the way I interpret the query, we are seeking more of a 24/7 light that can also be worn under clothes. The Mini would be kind of bulky and if you roll on it during sleep--ouch! I actually love my Drake and Wee but feel that--for me--they are also uncomfortable to wear at all times. The flatter shape of the Mini Taglight and the medallion shape of the Amulight that I am dreaming about are much more conducive to this. Frankly, of low-priced options, the Photon/fauxton is a PHENOMENAL shape/size/weight/durability for an EDC neck light! The only issue for me is that it is not very nice looking...

Great pics, hazna! I love my s90 too!

Hah, I was surprised to see this thread! I gave both, and I should probably check up on it. I made no mention of price, so she may think they are $10 gifts.

This thread was created about a year before the minis became available. Only the last page is from after.

:ohgeez: Well that makes a little more sense now divine thanks. I didn't even notice the OP thread date. Seems though some still believe the Mini is to big for neck wear, heck I wear a Titan T1A around mine without much trouble.

We'll be waiting, but I need to put my order in too!

Well you could wear a Ra Clicky or a Streamlight Stinger if you wanted, but everyone has a place they'll draw the line and I go for minimalist dimensions while still allowing reasonable performance.

My first neck carry was my Titan, but the heavier lights are not good for people who run around a lot, and I soon tired of it banging around when I ran. I hardly notice the Drake or Draco when running, and they absolutely blow away the T1A for output at the same time.

What about the Peak Eiger in a 10180 or 10280 form factor? It can be had in SS, Brass, Al, and (possibly) Ti. You can choose a power level and tint preference. They are nicely built single level lights.

Love these shots, and it's a TiCN too! :twothumbs

Haha, must have been something with the white balance... its actually a chrome drake. I would mind a TiCN, but in the end there weren't any versions available, and it was a bit too expensive for me to afford anyway.

Yeah, reflections are tricky! Sometimes my TiCN's look just like that, and other times more subdued. The chrome is sure nice and light and has got to be virtually unnoticeable!

I'd advise against giving chicks lights that use Li Ions; Me knowing them, they'll leave the batts in the charger all day

Hee hee... and some of us guys, too!

Depending on the cost and and feel, the upcoming Quark Mini CR2 could also be a contender... used with primaries, it would be ultra small and ultra safe!

4sevens! Updates please!!!
