What is the brightest and longest throwing alkaline light availeable?

I am looking for a light, that uses regular batteries, and runs for a long time (5,or more hours), and has a bright, long throwing beam.
I have looked at the king pelican, and the UKE
D8, and SL6. Under a hundred bucks would be nice too. thanks

Also worth looking at the PT Surge, bright, waterproof, good run time & focusable (well sort of

The D8 throws NO WHERE near as far as the SL6, however, the D8 puts out more light and has a built-in-spare lamp.

I have a 4D Garrity Lantern that don't suck lemons. I may not be as bright as some stuff, but lasts.

I have never done timed runs on any of my stuff. So I can't help with that.

The brightest alkaline light I have have is a Pelican Stealthlite 4AA. I belive it's expected runtime is 5-6 hrs and has an initial claimed output of 15,000cp. The beam is pre-focused and to me is a nice tight spot w/plenty of "throw". Plenty worthy of spotting the bats trying to sneak in under the eaves of my house.

Bwcaw, I emailed Greg at BG yesterday and asked him his suggestion. He liked the D8 over the King Pelican. He said it had a spare bulb and was a little smaller with about the same brightness.
