What is the model number of the SUREFIRE 6Z bezel (flat surface) lens?

What is the model number of the SUREFIRE 6Z bezel (flat surface) lens? The surface of the lens is melted and I would like to replace it. Is it possible to replace it with a 6P lens? Probably an early model 6Z. I think the size is different from 6P because the fm63 red filter slips and doesn't stick.

Hey @bobb the old lexan 6P and 6Z are the same head.

The actual part number of the kit with replacement lens is Z17.

Well this happened.

This lens had a very slight bubble when I got this 6p classic but it didn’t seem to hurt anything and didn’t seem to worsen with use. The light was in my pocket tonight and I just took it out to find it like this. :( I guess it will be off to surefire for a new lens since it’s the old press...

Somewhere in that thread is a link to another thread where someone made one out of 1/16" polycarbonate. An option if you really want the plastic lens replaced and can't get your hands on an original rebuild kit... https://www.candlepowerforums.com/threads/surefire-z17-lens-replacement.365392/

I would recommend stay away from the plastic lenses and go on ebay or Lumens Factory store and get the Lumens Factory branded "Old Style Z44 Bezel" that comes with temperature resistant glass lens and removable bezel ring. That way you get the same look as the original and you can now unscrew the bezel ring and replace the lens as needed.
