What is your primary defensive light and where do you carry it?

bezel up carry, left front pocket

I carry an SC3 spares carrier in my coat pocket with 4 Sure-Fire CR123's and an MN03 lamp incase the Strion bulb burns out and I need emergency light before I can replace it, or I happen to need light for an extended period that is more than the rechargeable battery can provide.

well, if I know I have to go somewhere that might turn sour, I bring my D3. it now wears a G&P crenelated bezel from www.lighthound.com. I run a P91 on 2x17500. I have found that the protected tailcap can still deliver a decent shot, if well placed.

Are you able to fire up the P91 with a single click? If so, which batteries do you use? And if possible, what's the production marking on the side of the lamp?

I have to admit my "defensive" needs for a light are a little less extreme than that of a LEO, on average.

But I do live in the Alaskan rainforest, where occasionally you may meet a bear or other night-time animal you might not want to have an encounter with. A flashlight certainly isn't the world's best deterrent, but it can be a good way to say "I am here."

In response to the question, my "bright" light used to be my 3-D Mag. At current it is my milkyspit-modified SureFire L1, and if I need to either really see things or signal someone, a Mini-Mini HID. My L1 is always in the back corner of my right front pocket, bezel-up. When I haul it around, the Mini-Mini HID is either in a knapsack or the pocket of my jacket, where it is somewhat uncomfortable but much easier to get to.
