From looking at the specs I would say probably 9 cells in a 3s3p configuration.

Couldn't say. From other posts, it sounds like flat-top, possibly tabbed, unprotected 18650s are what are usually found in laptop batteries. The kicker is that most cases are 'welded' so it is almost impossible to get the case open without damaging it.

+1. Tried taking the 18650s out of my old HP battery pack but they were some sort of welded. Spoilt one row of batteries but managed to savage the other row of batteries.
