And, having loaded it with batteries, look into the beam and turn it on?

Answer - This one! :)

Just got my M6 from OpticsHQ, and thankfully I didn't put the HOLA in it! (Yet!) Yeow, this thing is BRIGHT! Can't wait for it to get dark out. Wow, what a chunk of hardware this light is, and even with the mere low output lamp it's a stunner! I suspect that the LOLA will be way more than adequate after I get done playing!

Mike, bite-your-tongue! How can you say that anything less than the maximum possible lumens is adequate??? This is not in the spirit of CPF. MORE is always better! :nana:

...says the guy with the searchlight!

I *said* I was gonna play with it! Sheesh! :) I need to compare it to my AE light and N30 HIDs tonight!

I want a searchlight too!

Just wait till you try it with the HOLA! The M6 really flexes its muscles when you use the HOLA outdoors. Excellent throw and beautiful color rendition.

And yes, OpticsHQ is great! I just got mine from them last Friday.

OK, time to go kill some batteries! :) I wish I had a camera handy, there is a little family on my desk; L1, A2, L5 and M6 all in a row.

Have fun. I have been thinking of getting a M6 for a long time now but just could not scrape up enough cash for it. I actually been to OpticsHQ office in SF. I have seen their storeroom full of SF stuff  and they ask me if there was anything else I wanted as I was about to pay. You should have seen me twitching as I tried to gain control of my hands and very reluctantly step out of the storeroom. :eek:oo::eek::broke:

When my M6 first arrived, its shorter than the 2D Eveready I have on my desk [keeping a stock 2D with the Surefires :twak:], its looks so small and innocent, flip it over so its bezel up and I immediately looked directly in, as if reeled in by the beauty of the MOP...and then...WHOOM, heat in the face, seared retinas

its going to be a forever learned lesson to lock out the light, no matter how small or innocent it is, before a close-up lamp examination:laughing:

even with the MN15 [X-LOLA] this thing ain't a clunker:nana:

Haha I've learnt the lesson, never look into a light over 100 lumens when turning it on... However my friends haven't and I let them make the mistake!

The N30 will make the M6 HOLA seem pretty weak.

I figured that. It's hard to beat an HID! I love those things.

The M6 with HOLA is, well, unbelievable. And no, I did NOT look into the beam.

I *have* done that with my 6D ROP with it's HOLA. Ouch. Eh, I don't need these eyeballs anyway.
