Hi, guys. I'm new here; good forum.

Aside from the TriLight adapter for Mag-Lites, are there any other LED lights made for D-cells? I've got a sack full of these things that we laid in for the hurricane, which fizzled out at the last minute.

I've also been caught before in an extended power outage, and having to sit in the car with the engine running to re-charge my SL-20

.

These LED lights seem the perfect answer to that problem; decent light for an extended period of time. So, what's out there?

BTW, you guys are causing me much grief. Since finding this forum, I've already made one on-line trade, am working on another one, ordered an X5 and an InreTech(?) AA unit, and am lusting for an E2e to replace my venerable 6P.

Thanks, all...

I think the only "mass produced" LED light that operates on D-Cells is the Lightwave 4000: 10 Nichia LEDs, 3 D cell. Other options are the Inretech Mag-Lite Luxeon Star Adapters, PR LED replacement bulbs for D flashlights, and the Elektrolumens Starlux or K3, which use 3 D cells an aluminum body with a Luxeon Star LED. Surprisingly, Elektrolumen's products are the cheapest option here, and the Luxeon Star will produce about double the light of the Lightwave 4000.

Another option is the Tektite Excursion Pro (3D Cells)

It's very tough/well built and has a long burn time, only down side is the expensive price.
