What light were they using on TV?

I confess that when the MNF game got out of hand I switched to Fox for the pyramid special.

Near the end the host, Jay Schrader, and the Egyptian host opened up a stone casket and discovered some remains.

They were each using a small handheld light that put out a pretty bright and white beam. Maybe it was halogen. The lights weren't connected to an external power source. They looked cylindrical, about 5 inches long, large diameter with an inch or so diameter bezel. It didn't look like a traditional flashlight but instead looked "TVish."

Any ideas on what it was? Performance?

No, it wasn't a Stinger. I've got one of those and definately wasn't one.

The light wasn't shaped light a regular light. It had that movie set/camera crew look. It was black, not smooth on the sides and body looked like it was bigger around than the bezel. Strange...

here`s the best Image of the light I found on NG

With 5 minute runtime...

PS, that is *not* being lit by the flashlight...I mean look at it, the angle of whatever is all wrong.

Saaby,

The angle is OK. I watched the show and the light was just that bright. There were various angles and the one photo AlexGT posted is where Jay Schrader is kneeling on the semi-opened coffin lid and the Egyption host is shining the light underneath the lid into the coffin. The bright part we're seeing is the top of the peripheral light.

I saw that clip.
I assumed at the time it was the lamp part of a bikelight or headlamp or some kinda. Do I see a cable running from his hand [to a battey pack?]
