What resistor?

Hi all,

I've got one of these..... http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.14450

I've ascertained that if I upgrade the led to an XRE R2 the existing resistor should work... it has no driver, however somehow whilst fiddling around around with a soldering iron - I've blown the resistor. Can anyone tell what I need to replace it with? Looking at the colour bands, and using an iphone app. - I've unconfidently concluded that it was a 0.21 ohm resistor - but my local electronics store didn't have any. Does that sound about right? This is all very new to me....

Still not quite sure how I blew the thing in the first place...

Thanks for your help.

Does the resistor test open circuit with a multimeter now? If your electronics store has any small value resistors you could make one of the appropriate value by using several in parallel and/or series.

The existing resistor is showing nothing at all on a multimeter.

I take your idea of adding a few in parallel - but there's really not much room for anything other than one resistor!

Well, you could find a better electronics store or use 1.5 cm of 13 ohm/m nichrome wire with a bit of heatshrink to stop it shorting.
