What was the last LED light you purchased and why?

I'm not going to pretend I can control my spending.... on lights.

Pelican 2220 VB3 LED ~ Wanted to try it out.
Weltool penlight ~ See Above.
Weltool UV penlight ~ See Above, again.

SF A2, wanted to try again. Those 5mm 3300K diodes that I accidentally bought on ebay match the color of his lamp very well. Few people without a device will be able to tell the difference between an LED and a lamp (until the batteries start to discharge significantly). To make the beam from the 3 diodes less triangular, I moved them ~3 mm higher than the original diodes were placed. Their tips divide the hotspot of the lamp into 3 parts from a short distance, but at a distance of more than a 0,3-0,4 meter this no longer matters

Here they are, seller from Thailand, not active. I would buy more of these diodes for stock

Just purchased 4 different Maglite LED Solitaires.
(No, not to give them away. But I likely will with a couple of them.)
And an Olight i3T EOS single-AAA LED Stars & Stripes model off eBay.
So far the very last flashlight I've purchased.
Might stay that way for quite awhile. We'll see. I make no promises!
(Yes I will reveal soon why I bought 4 of them. Stay tuned Sports fans.) 😉
Posted the overview on my main YouTube channel.
One light is a blue beam Solitaire (black body/blue tailcap section).
Didn't mention that one on YT. But did mention the other three.
One Silver, one Red, one Blue. Legoed together.
Maglite Solitaire Unofficial Patriot model!
Red tailcap section, silver body, blue head. Everything works!

Left over parts? Red head, blue body and tailcap.
But the last one really looks, "interesting."
Red body, silver tailcap section, silver head.
Yup, I made an Unofficial Target company colors Maglite Solitaire.
Sounds silly, but it really looks impressive.
Though not as impressive as the Unofficial Patriot model.
This was just a fun, tiny Project. Bit of less serious stuff.
Unlike most of the content on my main channel.

Novatac 120T, because I like the raised tailbutton for ease of use, and I enjoy unlocking them and reprogramming to 120P configuration ;-)

They were too good to pass up. One to gift. Maybe two. The rest I will probably place around the house and garage.
LOL! -- knew somebody from here would scoop them.
I was super tempted to do so myself, but it was just an impulse buy for me and I already have more then enough lights placed around the house, most rooms have 2-3 lol. --- I was just such a big fan of 4sev. back in the day. -- They were making some of the coolest stuff back then. Wild how they threw in the towel I would have thought they'd be the ones to make it!
Anyway, enjoy them - you saved me a few bucks cuz I was tempted haha

Went ahead and grabbed a Malkoff MD4 (original checkering type) not the current production md4 (pinapple)
Also grabbed an M91BN engine to drop in to it.

I've been in love ever since turning this light on. - The tint is phenomenal, def. on the warmer side, but not overly.
It is my GO TO light for anything around the house / yard ect.
I honestly don't think that will change any time soon or maybe ever? - This thing running on (2) 18650's, is regulated at approximately 800+ lumens for nearly 3 hours without a drop in output. The low is very useable and in the event of a blackout the low tail-standing would light up the room enough and be able to last for a VERY long time.

I've been looking for a general purpose light, not necessarily an EDC worthy light, due to size... but man when this thing turns on, it is just a WALL of light, it fills rooms with ease, and lights up just about everything in the room. When outside, if you shine it towards your house it'll light up the entire side of the house, it's got a really nice balance of throw and spill, makes it perfect for the role I was having it fill.

I keep this light on my desk which is a central point in my home, I am also at my desk majority of the time, so in the event I need it It's generally within arms reach.

If it isn't and I'm elsewhere, I usually have my HDS NB40 in my pocket, so that'll allow me to get to the malkoff!

The last one I purchased was a small batch titanium custom light commissioned by Mr Lewis over on Facebook. McR20s, H17fx and a 3500k 519a. I'm yet to receive it but it should be some time mid next week. he had an idea for a light, so he made the drawings and sent them to Peng Wang to create a batch of them (at fairly large personal expense) so props to him for bringing an idea of his to reality.

I love doing my best to support people trying out those kind of endeavors, plus the light looks incredible, so the "why" was a no brainer.

The last light I purchased was from modlite.
I purchased an 18350 body and their new Amp compact head.
It makes for a nice little carry light.
Here are the specs on the Amp head
  • 876 Lumens
  • 18,000 Candela
  • 6,500 Kelvin color temperature
  • Multi-Mode (If selected. )
  • Made and assembled in the USA
  • Drivers are fully potted and tested to withstand select fire SCAR 17 recoil.
  • Lifetime guarantee
  • 6061 Series Alum bezel with Mil-Spec Hard Anodizing.
  • Ultra clear BOROFLOAT® lens allows 98-99% light transmittance.
The specs are not as impressive as their other products but it is very potent for its size.
It also works on the Hog (21700) body with the boost adapter and I bet the runtime would be very good with that setup,

Photon Microlight II ordered from Amazon and currently out for delivery. Why? Cause I'm doing a little keychain overhaul.

Brinkman AAA incandescent.
I'm searching for some of the lights that I had growing up. This looks very similar if not the correct one. I believed the one I had was an AA but may be mistaken, so it's on the way and we will see.

Nitecore EDC23

I wanted to try out one of these new flat design lights. I like this one fairly well, but I wish it had a 5 lumen setting.

Pulled the trigger on an H4 at last. Unfortunately I wasn't paying attention and purchased the 519A 5700K, linear driver version (wouldn't normally be my first choice), and forgot to order a headband to go along with it. :ohgeez:

No big deal though, I have an S21A with this exact config already and it's very enjoyable to use. And until I get a headband, I can use it as a right-angle handheld/pocket clip light, no sweat.

Edit: I'm happy to report that it came with a headband

So many items.... lights....
1) Nitecore E4K
2) Nitecore EDC 27
3) Fenix E-Spark Powerbank/flashlight.
4) Another Streamlight Protac 1L-1AA model.

#1 and #2 took advantage of the big Black November sale over at Battery Junction. #3 just something that looks cool that I wanted to try out. #4 because that light is so good, I had to have another one.

Bought an Olight Prowess for the bedside table in their Halloween sale. Good flood too.
