What was the last LED light you purchased and why?

I also just received an Acebeam L19 2.0. I'm really looking forward to packing all that throw in a smaller package for when I need it! I'll have to try it out tonight. Happily all my 21700 batteries are compatible with all of my 21700 lights so I'm good to go.

Now I have two Acebeam 21700s, but they are the model AB21CP50, and it's unclear to me whether that model will work as a powerbank by itself. I don't really want to try it out and fry something, either, so I might strictly use the Klarus G15 for that purpose.

I dont think you can fry anything, the battery is protected.
Charging is controlled by the phone, not by the 21700 power supply.

Power either will or will not come out of the battery when you plug your phone in (assuming you have a cable that fits).

It seems I got lucky .... Las Vegas -> Oslo in 48h I think is outstanding!

Everything seems to be centered perfectly, no (unexpected) beam artifacts. The LED/reflector selector is quite smooth.

Also, I can see no PWM on any modes (ok, this might just be my not-20s-anymore sight).

As a (quite expensive) alternative to "nice emitter chinese lights" in 2025 I think it is still a good light.

Loop Gear SK05 Pro with Nichia 519a emitters in the flood portion of the light. It doesn't have a moonlight mode out the front, but the side light takes care of that range nicely. Since the sidelight is an RGB strip, I can even choose the temperature of white light to my liking.

Excellent choice. That's still my top pick for almost anyone needing a very high quality, general purpose, all-around flashlight, and mine is a personal favorite for me as well. If I lost mine today, I'd order a replacement tomorrow.

Note: I routinely use LFP123 cells similar to these for general use for their much higher available output on 'Hi' (vs 'AA') when needed (which is somewhat often), and rechargeability w/ Hi cycle life. The run time is significantly lower than w/ CR123A primary, but is typically adequate in my use, and the ability to always change to a freshly charged cell with known run time when I head out is usually preferred to a relatively expensive (operating cost) CR123A with (typically) unknown remaining charge, so it's an easy choice for me. That said, I also consider the (patented) ability to use highly available AA when needed / desired to be a major asset to me as well.

Just placed the order for a second Emisar DT8K.

First one was configured with an E21A 4500K and meant as a work lamp, but it has since found its way to be the perfect bed reading lamp, just magnetically attaching itself to a steel shelf bracket above my pillow. After working - and playing - in front of several monitors all day, I enjoy spending an hour or so reading an old-fashioned book on the bed before trying to sleep.

This second DT8K will be attached to the exact same steel bracket, but in the mornings. Configured with an E21A 2000K for a bit of simulated sunlight to gently start the brain on otherwise completely dark mornings.

Just got a weltool t1...fit and finish is great, similar to the old surefire matte anodizing. Performance is ok, the regulation and outputs could use some improvement for longevity, this driver and LED seems to chew through anything other than standard voltage li-ion cells. Will have to do a test with my 2.4v Li-ions tonight.

About a month ago I bought this Streamlight Microstream USB. I had been carrying either a 1L-1AA or a regular Microstream and this seemed to be a good compromise between the two. It has two modes; low (about 50 lumens) and high (about 250 lumens) which give me good options while not being "tactically bright" (but still dazzling in a dark parking lot).

Found two Fenix E16 on a marine supply store display rack. Clearanced to $12.95 each. Not my favorite interface , but this tiny light has all but killed my desire to tote around larger light sources. I've been keeping one as my daily with a floating keychain. The floaty is twice the size of the diminutive Fenix 😁
