Last week I decided that was time for a new light. I purchased a Fenix LR35R Pro, a model just released by Fenix.
The flashlight is stupidly bright, it is not pocketable but it is a form factor that I know well. What set this flashlight aside from the crowd, is the interface: a central button to set the function: flood, spot, flood+spot, UV, or Red. The crown around the button is a potentiometer (or, very likely, an optical encoder) with a 270° rotation, which sets the brightness in a continuous fashion. The LR35R Pro has the semblances of an engineering masterpiece, with the exception of the rubber flap covering the USB-C charging port - which adopt the QC/PD protocol.
The light isn't cheap. It comes with two protected high-current 21700 cells with a capacity of 6,000 mAh each, and it is fantastic for a night walk.
Regards to all,
Anthony
