What was your Good deed for the day?

can't blame you, that one did require a bit of stretched association, lol...
It shouldn't have, not after I searched the name and found the item and a picture.

It's about proper manners. Nothing more. A random "Thank you" from a stranger isn't going to make me feel good. It does let me know I'm not dealing with a rude, joke of a human-being who literally only cares about themselves.
To my contention: how does it make you feel when your good deed isn't acknowledged, and why do you think you feel that way?

I've honestly gotten to the point where either way.... It doesn't make me feel anything. As a kid, I grew up thinking that Humanity in general is Noble and Good. Now that I'm 50, I learned quite awhile back that most of Humanity is selfish, worthless trash! Ironically, it makes me intentionally look for those individuals who are the rare exception to that rule.

A few weeks back I saw an elderly gentleman walking in the rain MILES away from wherever he'd be heading (Unless his destination was more highway)

I offered a lift or at least an umbrella and he told me to F*** off 😂
He didn't want to become an impromptu organ donor LOL

I felt bad because he was clearly not in a trusting mood, but the rain was HEAVY, and the umbrella was obligation free, no kidneys, liver or heart required 😂

Ah well, I'm sure the old bugger was just fine hahaha
Stubborn single-mindedness...it won two world wars, so I guess it must stand for something..

I once heard something about courtesy, it went something like this "Manners are the lubricant of society." I thought that was so true, and really wrapped things up well.

There was also something else, maybe from a movie, or maybe on here, it went something like, "Manners/courtesy cost you nothing yet are priceless." or something along that meaning.

"But when the Pharisees heard that He had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together. Then one of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, and saying, “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?”
Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”"
- Matthew 22:34-40

I believe that doing good deeds is an admirable endeavor, and that people should love their neighbors as themselves.

@Fuzzywuzzies, Thank you for the reply. However, I don't understand how it relates to the question I posted.

Please expound, Brother.
