What watch you're wearing?

Wondering if someone would comment on the Stürhling. 8th grade boy said his grandparents got it for him. "Not an expensive watch" he said. I saw similar for a hundred dollars on mAmazon.

I did look at their website; some eye-catching stuff. Not all hard to read like the one in the image. Claiming to have these watches made in the country where fine products like Apple are made.

You all have some great taste in timepieces, including Timex.
To clarify, I'm not a watch snob. The company makes eye-catching watches that are garbage quality. But that's not the issue. Customer service is in the toilet, and the company will blatantly lie about pretty much everything! Yes, there are Made in China watch brands that are worth buying. Both for their combination of very good quality, and value. Seagull being a perfect example. Then you have Made in China brands like S.O. that just lie about where their watches are made. I can't sit here and pretend that a watch from a scumbag company is great or even good, when I know better.

As for Timex, love their Weekender model. For the money, good quality.

Yep ... Yobokies Plonger handset with coated sapphire crystal. Really a great watch and timekeeper.

Come on guys! I spent my whole life not knowing and now you are introducing me to some bad (expensive) habits. I already found one at yokobies that I like but can't afford.

Sturhling was started by the great grand son of a watch maker in Switzerland in 1999 and used the name to create an image of top shelf watches. They weren't though. They're kind of like an Invicta or a Fossil brand. Their automatics are built to be +/- 20 seconds a day. Not bad for a consumer grade automatic. The Timex with Miyota movements are designed to be +/- 25 seconds a day.

Their complete mods and NOS/Vintage prices are absurd. Don't even consider those.
The parts are of good quality and fair price generally.

Building or modding a watch for yourself (especially Seiko NH3x based) isn't terribly hard or complicated and quite a fun hobby. Far cheaper than you'd think. Lots of parts vendors out there.

... Yobokies Seiko Monster Mod ...

Seeing how the automatic winding functions on that skeleton Stürhling is interesting, never the less.

$3,000 - $4000 digital Casio with DLC coated titanium case and band…
Now that is a Curious person to buy that.

Maybe old news to you all, but in the 70's(?) the instructions that came with my Tudor manual wind said that if it is running fast to store it with the dial on edge when not wearing, to slow it down.

That super cool white solar quartz Seiko is a little fast, so I keep it sideways at night. Astonishing timekeeping.

Check out the super cool white Casio in this video. Start at 1:25 to catch it or watch the whole song and catch a catchy ditty in your mind, for a while.

Here's a question for you all.

I emailed [email protected] with a query. A week later I have no reply. I'm obviously not going to buy from a company that can't even reply to me. Does anyone have any experience with them?

Conversely I emailed Momentum in Canada(?) some weeks ago and got a quick and courteous reply. No prizes for guessing where my money might go.

It's a national holiday in China. Golden week or something like that. Should be ending in a day or two I think.
