If anyone is interested in purchasing an Oris with it's inhouse 400 movement. Before you pull the trigger. I'd recommend doing a Google search. I'd place a link to couple of threads over at WUS, but not sure if I'm able to.

What's the caveat?

If a person did not purchase the watch from an AD (having all documents, including the sales receipt). Since the 400 is an inhouse movement. Oris will not recognize their warranty, even if the person is willing to pay for the repair. All the person will own is a paper weight

In my opinion, one of the stupidest things a manufacturer can do in an already declining market...it'll only bolster 3rd party watch repairs, instead of boosting AD sales...

Companies such as Oris, is only damaging their reputation. From what I've been reading. Oris' US authorized repair / service center, Watchmaker in NY, is crazy expensive.

If anyone finds a excellent watchmaker, it's a great asset to have when needing work done on their watch. Then again, IMO, it goes with all industries, e.g. cars, computers, etc..

I used to respect Oris. They were supposed to be the 20th brand under The Swatch Group umbrella back in the day. But those in charge of the brand and quite frankly its employees, didn't like that Hayek was going to make Oris into Swatch Group's bottom-of-the-barrel Entry-level brand. With watches priced accordingly. Oris literally bought their way out of the SG in order to prevent that. And, there's been some controversy with Oris over the years. But nothing THIS bad.

Seriously, there's no such thing as a Die Hard Oris collector. If it's going to be a worthless paper-weight, if Oris is refusing to stand behind its own movement to such a disgusting degree.... There's no reason to buy such a watch.

Wow, that design makes it wear much slimmer than its specs say!
Aye, the angled lugs and reasonable L2L length go a long way. Then a nice heaping helping of Seiko case design magic and blammo.

Been wearing this guy on a wildly comfortable paratrooper strap the last few days.

Sometimes finding just the right strap makes all the difference in the world. It had been on a NATO, but never truly bonded with it there. On this, its perfect and I don't want to take it off.

Wearing my first modded watch. Started as a Steeldive 'Tuna.' I swapped out the dial, hands, and date wheel. Also regulated it to be within +/- 2 spd. I really wanted an SBBN007 because I like the "crop circle" plots, but this will suffice.

you did a great job on it! Big improvement, the Dagaz dial looks a ton better. Awesome work.
