What would be a good mAH \"AA\" Cell for GH24 Lamp

I have already used the CBP 1650mAH and they work fine with a very flat runtime as would be expected for this high powered cell. I am looking for a good comprise between the ability to keep the lamp bright and stretching out the runtime a bit.

I believe the GH24 has only a 1.7a draw, any suggestions???

At that draw, you could get away with most of the 2300 name brand AA's, I would think.
