Re: What\'s in your pocket?

Today I'm carrying the following: SF E1, disposable lighter, Toscani cigars, wallet, Leatherman C4 Juice, Victorinox Pioneer 4, large classic Sebenza, Persol sunglasses, Panasonic EB-GD75 cell phone, Parker roller pen and (on my keychain) Arc AAA, Traser Glowring, aluminum Spy Capsule, Victorinox Rambler.

Is that enough stuff?

Re: What\'s in your pocket?

BMStrong -- You mean you're looking for a light to add along with the McLux, right? Surely you're not saying you're going to ditch the McLux. Sounds like you might want an E2e?

Anyway, to answer your question I've got an Arc LSH-P in my front pocket. (Probably to be replaced by an LS4 when that comes out if there's a truly white-beamed version.)

In my coat & backpack is added: SF 8nx, G2, Tigerlight cone spray.

How does this get carried? Around your waist, like a backpack or over your neck hanging down your chest?

Well, not to be a smart*ss, but the answer to your question is "Yes". /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It has a nice, comfortable (but detachable) shoulder strap (seen in the pic) that enables one to carry it over (or across) the shoulder (like a lady carries her purse); it also includes a thick, heavy-duty waist strap that enables one to carry it around the waist (with the pack itself in the back); and finally, it includes two 'carry handles' that enable one to carry it in your hands (like a briefcase). (One can also purchase 'strapettes' that enable it to be carried like a backpack and that snap into the quick-release latches that the shoulder strap normally snaps into.)

I love it. Its extremely versatile and it gives me the flexibility to carry a lot of 'extra' stuff and yet not look like a dork carrying a purse.

Some of the items I carry in it...

<ul type="square">[*]Palm V Handheld
[*]Adventure Medical Kits First Aid Kit
[*]Extra Sure Fire G2 Nitrolon
[*]Extra 10 rnd mag for Glock 23
[*]Two SC1 Spares Carriers
--(1 w/ P60 & 6 batts and 1 w/ P61 & 6 batts)
[*]Several extra AAA batteries for Arc AAA
[*]Small Nikon binoculars
[*]Two Motorola T6220 FRS Radios (incl. NOAA weather channels)
--(in two mesh pockets on outside of pack -- actually intended to carry water bottles)
[*]Craftsman 12-in-1 Screwdriver/Torx Set
--(bits are self-contained in handle)
[*]Panasonic Microcassette Recorder
[*]Nikon CoolPix 800 Digital Camera
[*]Backup CD (from home PC)
[*]Couple of PowerBar energy bars
[*]Contact lens drops
[*]Magellan Handheld GPS Receiver
--(only when I'm going hiking or out for a 'Sunday' drive)[/list]
Plus, I've attached a couple of carabiners to the outside that enable me to quickly hang things on it if necessary and it comes with several loops and stretch cords to lash things on if needed.

Basically, its my BOB -- except that I carry it everywhere. (Hey, you never know where you'll be when the SHTF!)

Re: What\'s in your pocket?

No problem. I hope you find it as useful as I have. FWIW, I normally use the shoulder strap and just throw it over my shoulder.

Also, I forgot to mention in my post above that the waist straps fold up and can be neatly tucked (and velcro'd shut) into a pocket sown on the rear of the pack so that they are not in the way if you're not using them (that was one of the main features that made me decide to go with this bag; plus I especially liked the removable shoulder strap feature for those times when you carry it around your waist).

BTW, Altrec and REI are good sources (although maybe not the cheapest)...
