Hey Aussie I think you missed the PS at the bottom of Connor's post, that's higher than the price he can buy one for in Germany.

CopQuest currently charge $39.95 for the scorpion plus $14 for shipping to Europe by Global Priority US Mail (5 - 7 days)

Total price = US$53.95

If imports are treated like they are in the UK, he saves the VAT fee, import duty and customs handling fee.

Fair points Aussie, have used Toolshop myself in the past and always had good service, but I still think a better deal may be possible via US import.

I just edited my earlier post, so far the cheapest (shipped) price I can find is $53.95

I know toolshop.de - and several other shops in Germany that sell the Scorpion in the $76-81 range. I am just plainly refusing to pay ~$80 for a flashlight that sells for $30-40 in the USA! Concerning import taxes: I am usually lucky and my packages don't get picked ;-) But even if they do, the taxes are only about ~20% - that's still a lot cheaper than buying it here.

All I need to do is to find a shop with modest international shipping fees - I *know* it's possible to send *insured* packages to Germany quite cheap (e.g. USPS Global Priority Mail "Variable Weight Box" for US$10 - this thing is large enough to put 3 Scorpions in it!) ... but all the shops I found so far seem to insist to use UPS or FedEx at shipping rates between $50-85, which is really insane. :-(

Anyone who could help me with this, please?

I really like $54 (+taxes, if I'm not lucky again) much better than $81. 🙂

You could always set up a search on ebay. As an example, this one recently went for $33.95 plus shipping: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=729698201

There seems to be a fairly regular supply of them for around that price or less, so you could get lucky, just depends if you can wait or not

The other good thing is that I find most ebay sellers are quite flexible when it comes to overseas shipping options, unlike online retailers.

I am looking for a trustworthy online-shop where the Streamlight Scorpion is sold.

I live in Germany, so international delivery is required - the shipping fee should not exceed $15 (I know there are several options to send international *insured* packages for $7-12 but most shops only seem to offer shipment via UPS for $50+ ....)

PS: The Scorpion costs €76 (=$76) in Germany, that's why I prefer to order directly from the US, if I find a shop with modest shipping fees, that is.

Connor - try ebay. I'm in Australia and have pretty much the same probs with shopping and shipping as you do. I just got a Scorpion off an ebay vendor, $30.99. I was looking to buy from online stores but found they tend to ship the most expensive way too. With a private seller, you can hopefully specify what mode of shipping you want, and pay exactly just for that.

But in my case I had someone nice enough in Texas (thanks PlayboyJoe) to intercept the package locally and send it to me internationally.
