Do you know a good place to get a small good quality UV led lights? I want something small and not break the bank either. Is The photon UV good?

Any suggestions?

Thanks! :)

I've had a couple lights that were OK for UV but I think the 'most UV' lights are probably modded. I have a 5 LED XNova with, I think 375nm LEDs, that someone did for me which effectively works very well because even with the longer wavelength... it's so low powered that there isn't much visible light.

And I have a button cell lights, one with a 360 and one with either a 340 or 345. They are in the Coast housings that don't have a lens. The 360 is probably the best at detecting... whatever it is that one detects with a UV light.

But the XNova is my favorite.

A few pics to spruce up this thread.

Here's my XNova that member WildRice did for me beforeI realized I could take a light apart just fine.

Here's a couple pics. Same LEDs, but the first one is if a single LED direct driven on, I think 3 N cells (or 2 N cells and 1 AAA cell) followed by 5 of the same LEDs in the XNova. Both obviously make the orange label flouresce, but the effect is much more pronounced with the lower-driven LEDs in the XNova. Hard to believe they are the same LEDs.

Sorry they are blurry, but a dark, 1 second handheld pic is gonna be blurry.

And here's an exlpoded view of the Coast light. It came with a blue LED (light was only $1 at Fry's) and this shows how easy it is to take down and replace the LED.

Literally a 1 minute mod. You could do this 30 times while watching Rachel Ray do a 30 minute meal.
