Hi again CPR'ers...

So I have dipped into the Li-Ion lights and been reading quite a bit about 18650's. The consensus thus far is that AW is a good choice. However, I've read and seen test where Panasonic NCR18650 had very good results and has a higher capacity than the AW 2200 mah. (The Panny is rated at 2900 mah.)

So, the question is, where can one purchase theses? I saw that jtsgallaxy was selling them here and on ebay but it would appear that (s)he is out of stock. Searhcing, I could not find anyone selling in small quantities.

So, does anyone know where one can purchase these batteries?

Thanks!

there are a couple of places that sell them individually - and I have bought some in the past... do a search for NCR18650 - (I just found one for $18 shipped)
but you do realize they are not protected right?

Like most 18650 cells - they are intended for use in laptop and other packs that have protection circuitry built in...

Panasonic does not sell them direct AFAIK - unless of course you wanted to buy a few thousand pcs. in cartons of 360pcs @

PS: AW has cells greater than 2200mAh but his high capacity protected 2600mAh is a flat top which won't work with some devices that require a button top.

:grin2:

Hello lebox97,

Thanks for the clarification. I thought they were protected but apparently, too much reading and looking at charts late in the evening has played tricks on my memory (or lack thereof). So, I will look elsewhere.

With regards to the AW 2600 mah, yes I was aware they were flat tops thus removed them from my list. So, it would appear that I will need to look at either the EagleTac 2400 mah or the Trustfire 2400 mah (flame cover) - unless there are other higher capacity, protected, and reliable 18650's :sssh:. Now where can I found those EagleTac's.... ;)

Thanks!
