Yes I know 2AA lights don't have the throw of other battery powered lights but for what I use it for it does the job so please no recommendations for other battery types.

I currently have a 2AA Pelican 2360 light which I like but I would like to upgrade. I am looking for another 2AA light which has a brighter hot spot with more throw and preferably less spill. Also i would prefer a forward clicky switch with momentary and the ability to come on high first.

What are my options?

I found the 2360 to be one of the throwier 2aa lights out there. Nitecore mt2a was fairly tight as well. Both still had a lot of spill.

If you are comfortable with a soldering iron maybe look at doing a 3535 led swap into a jaxman M2?

I just checked it out. Looks cool! I just wished they had a video showing it with the aspheric lens installed.

They do

What steered me away from that lens was that with it on, you can sit the light face down because the optic bulges out just a little to much . But the beam is super tight with it , it's a hard call .

You are right, I found the video. I like how the beam isn't square like on most aspheric lights.
