I have two boxes of surefire batteries, one is white and the other is red. I can't for the life of me remember which one I purchased firs... obviously I want to start using the older ones.

Any help appreciated

This may sound like a dumb question (I don't buy boxes of cells), but are the boxes sealed?

If not, just look at the date stamp on the side of the batteries.

They are sealed.... but I didn't realize the batteries were date stamped

Why not open both SF battery boxes and have a look at the date code? Then, using a digital multimeter, measure the cell voltages. This will give you an idea which box of cells are best. Cordially, Richard...

The red ones that say SureFire SF123A 3 volt Lithium Battery, Made in USA, and have a date stamp MM-YYYY are OK.

The white ones that say SueFie 3 Vort Rithium Battely, Made in [insert hieroglyphics] and have some interesting brown liquid coming out of the +ve terminal, are probably not quite as good.

Funny. Actually I bought each directly from surfire apparently the white box over 5 years ago and the red box 3 years ago. I guess sometime inbetween they changed their package. But I opened the boxes and got the dates that way.

Thxs all
