I have Hitachi Cordless Drill kit with a 14.4V Inc flashlight model UB 18D
Te battery is 14.4v 1.2 mAh NiCd
It WAS the brightest I had until I've got L3D & TK20. I figure UB 18D puts out ~40 Lum on fresh battery.
What do I need to upgrade it to bring it up to standards?
My goal is to make a light with a decent flood and some throw. Runtime of 2hrs+ would be nice. The more the merrier.
I am thinking a single Cree Q5 such as DX SKU 2394

But I am lost looking at drivers.

Dimmable (a plus), however, it talks about regulating current, but nothing about output voltage. Will it for for only 1 3.7V LED?
DealExtreme SKU 13557

seems to fit the voltage in/out, but at only 350ma output.
What would be a good match for my 14.4v setup and single LED?
Thanks!
