4AA Pro Polymer with 7 LEDs

Or the

3C Pro Polymer with 10 LEDs

I'm itching to buy my first led, and these two lights look like good choices for the beginner.

hmmm light output should be very similiar ith the 3c being a "little" bit brighter i think. and the 4aa is smaller. hmmmm decisions decisions!

Sorry I just don't have perhaps the patience or jargon of all of the reviewers (and there are some good reviews of these lights...do a search, or go to some of the reviewers websites (is that link list still around?) for that kind of info.

I've no experience with the 3c, but I do own the 4AA 7LED...sweet little light! Very bright, surprised me when I loaded it up! What's easier to run 3c or 4AA? Where do you want to use it? If you're out in the middle of no where and your batteries die, do you have other "donor equipment" that you can "borrow" like batteries from in a pinch?

I'd get them both if I were you...now I'm off to find a good price on a 3c! Hooked...yep, hooked I am....

I have the 4aa 7led streamlight. Its a good light and bright. The 10-led running on 3-c cells would be brighter and run longer.
Its up to you on how you want to use it.

I own both.

What everyone else said is true.

The 4AA, 7LED will fit into your pocket easier, is lighter, puts out a lot of nice light.

The 3C, 10 LED puts out even more light, is a little heavier, a little bigger, and will probably run for a longer time, and appears to be better built, with a large heat sink on the LED's (that should not matter, Streamlight has a lifetime warrantee on both, should they break).

So, it's 5:pm, you are going out hiking and don't know if you will make it back before dark, you grab the 4AA and slip it into your pocket.

It's 9:30, and you have to go out in the wilderness for 2 hours, you grab the 3C.

Ok I'm sorry for not being more specific. I seem to remember reading in other thread that one of these two lights had a superior light switch, comparred to the other. I guess I'm more curious about that, than anything else. I have a UK4aa, and I love it, but I miss not having a tailcap switch.

The 4AA light has a tailswitch cap, with light pressure momentary and more pressure positive on. It's an indented switch that some will have difficult using their thumb.

The 3C has a momentary tailswitch, with positive on being by a twist of the bezel.
