Which Maglite?

I like the AA Mini-Maglite. It's not the brightest, or smallest, but it's enough for most everyday lighting tasks. It's durable as hell, cheap, and batteries are easy to find.

well, since the subject has been broached; what other non-rechargeable batteries would fit in a Magcharger? (and how much cash could you wrap around them -- ?

) are there such things as lithium half-D's? What bulb(s) would you use with the other (alkaline or lithium) cells?
