I am about to buy my first SureFire. Should I get the Z2 or the C2. I want a good compact tactical light to use with my gun. Also if anyone has other recomendations where to get the best prices.

Thanks

I'm a big fan of buying whatever I can from William at Texas Tactical. Great prices AND great service. You don't find that growing on trees. Tell William that Darell sent you and he'll probably only charge you just a *little* extra.

Tough call on your choices. They're both great lights in their own right. Both about as tough as can be. The G2 is going to be lighter weight if that is a consideration.

Oh, and welcome to the forum!

Of the 2 I would get the C2 in HA finish. It's well worth the extra money for HA & will last much longer than the black finish. Plus the C2 comes with a pocket clip.

I probably have this back halfwards but the Z series can't accomodate the KL3 which I have my eyes on. The G and C can.

G2Z is the way to go. the polymer is more durable, less likely to blow a lamp if dropped and cheaper.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">The pocket clip is a good point, if you need it. But the "black finish?" I wouldn't call the polymer a "finish." And I find the polymer to be insanely durable.

darell, I didn't know the C2 or Z2 came in nitrolon/polymer.

As far as the G2Z it is definately the least expensive route & I would choose it over the Z2. But I still like the C2 HA over the G2Z, if money is no object.

I agree with Al, M2 if money is no consideration. However, if it is, My vote goes for the G2Z.

That's exactly why I like the C2 HA, if you get it and later wish you had an M2, all you need to do is buy the M2 bezel, o-ring & P61. You will have spent about the same as buying the M2 anyway, plus you can swap between bezels at will.

Another consideration: What is the better fit for your hand? The C2/M2 have fixed combat grips with flat sides. The Z2/G2Z have round combat grips with two spacer rings that can be removed, allowing for adjustment. You should try them out in person to see which feels better.

I have both the G2Z and M2. The M2 wins for sheer overengineered highest quality construction. The G2Z wins for lightweight durability in a highly affordable package (at least compared to the M2). With me, it's all about extremes. C2? Z2? What are those.
