surfires are expensive now
i heard bad reports on the battery station batteries in the surefire A2
i tried a bunch of titanium batteries, mostly good, but i had a few that were dead out the box

so who sells the cheapest cells, that are still good quality?

BS's newest batches are pretty good, haven't had any failures in my U2, amondotech is selling 2 packs for $2 matched cells specifically for multicell lights.

i am using the energizer ones , wouldnt insert any cheap quality batteries into my surefire ...... always get the best for the best .... :)

Try to get engerizer 123a via www.botac.com ???

or if possible get a bulk order of the batteries .... ?

ironically its like owning a BMW but try to run on cheaper inferior fuel to power the car.

Botac has a bad rap that is well deserved but...if you place the order via the phone and confirm stock before ordering I would get the $1.00 energizer/sanyo/rayovac's from them.
I had trouble with them on a multiple item order I placed on the web but many people say if you follow the above recs. you will be ok.
I am so unhappy with the way they handled an order for me but the $1.00 price for name brand cells is worth the risk as long as you keep the order value low.
I received 24 Energizers from them for 24.00 plus shipping(7-8.00).
I think that 1.33 a cell is great for name brand cells.
All cells tested 100% on my zts and multimeter and were date coded 12/06.

They were date coded Dec. 2006? Are you saying that is the manufacture date (usually not shown) or the expiration date? Lithiums made now are currently dated around 2015 or so. So if these were dated 2006 they are alread over 10 years old. If that's the case then I wouldn't trust them being good for much longer and not really a good deal. Typical Botac if that's the case.

They are "STAMPED" 1206A and clearly state a 2016 expiration date.

I assumed the "1206A" that is stamped in black ink is the the date of manufacture since its some type of production code but never the less they
have a 2016 expiration date on them.

Batterystation also sells duracell (best cell available) for only $2.
duracells are definitely the best primary 123s but just checked batterystation and they are $2.50 each.

streamlight 123 are what i get and i've tested them against energizers and the streamlights are a little better. you can get them here 12 for $16.
