Why do you still want a fixed body light, and not light pod ?

Dumbest thread ever. ;-)

Lightpod won't fit in my Levi's watch pocket. No you are DUMB
An HDS light is smaller than my thumb, and does its thing on a single tiny battery. Malkoffs are bigger and can be a little brighter. All of them are easier to lose than to destroy. It's a pretty damn good time to enjoy flashlights!

2,000 lumens would be annoying for basically everything I ever do in the dark.
so get less lumen duh !

It's not very portable you would have to have a cord attached to a battery pack at all times. You can't really stick it in your pocket. Etc etc. you're kinda looking at a headlight you would use as a regular flashlight. Maybe look at the surefire hell light😁

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DQ5QW1C/?tag=cpf0b6-20 somehhing like this would be perfect if it was made of good materials !
That head alone is larger than most of what i'd consider carrying without good reason, and i've carried an Emisar D4S.

Could you please just try to put together a sketch of, say, an EDC version of one of these pod lights to show exactly what you have in mind when you claim portability and ease of use?

Way better than that stupid car idea and cheaper too.
Just kidding bro.

I get what op is saying in terms of portable lighting. In star trek next generation they use flashlights that look like the pod he sites. But they don't have pockets to carry stuff in so they wouldn't have a pocket light. For my job I can see the pod being very useful for times my pocket size light isn't powerful enough.
