Electric vehicles are exploding from water damage after Hurricane Ian, top Florida official warns
Florida's chief fire marshal warned Thursday that Hurricane Ian waterlogged a number of EVs and their sensitive batteries, creating a serious widespread danger of fires.www.foxnews.com
pretty much. And Elon Musk, the only Gen-x multi-billionaire to successfully convince millenials he is one of them. The future is full of amazing tech opportunities, like his net worth doubling during pandemics that knocked small businesses for six and millenials picking up the tab for the next 10 years inflation. Sign me up for one of them labotomy-electro car thingies tomorrow. I'll even have the biodegradable wheels and hessian doors extra options because I know what Elons Gulfstream jet costs to run.The hate is not for the EVs. It's for the rich, virtue-signaling, hypocrites that are trying to foist EVs upon the rest of us.

As people who 'rushed in' to the market discover they don't 'work for them' and sell them, and others look to the used market to find a way to afford to buy one, let's just say if you're in the market for a used one, better have a VERY good PDI done on these first! PDI may now (more than ever) stand for 'Pretty Da&& Important'. It used to be more about one's money - now it could be about one's life as well!Have to say, flood damage and underbody accelerated rust due to salt water, not looking as bad by comparison. Maybe car insurance companies will start offering implosion protection for EVs?
EDIT: I'm sure someone will say electric cars should be "fully potted"![]()
But in this case the vehicles are a pretty good fit for their intended use. Frequently stopping and starting, not too many miles driven per shift, a place to recharge at the end of the work day. Amazon is going with an electric fleet also. In both cases, the much lower operating costs will save money.Being the gubment is pushing for electric vehicles it makes sense they put their money where their mouth is....or rather our money where their mouth is.
I honestly would love to see PK tackle this issue as well.Malkoff. Where's Malkoff when the industry needs 'im. Good basic functionality, and bomb-proof reliability. The EV world viewed through a different light, one might say.![]()
Found out that a good friend of mine just sold his hatchback to a private individual, and is currently without a vehicle of his own. He's trying to get his hands on a Chevy Bolt. Must admit, he's heavy into EVs. Though, this is the part where I mention his wife just got herself a brand new Mid-size SUV. It runs on gas, and she bought it so they both can share it. Might be the best idea.... Want to buy an EV for the first time, get you a wife who genuinely loves you and has a traditional gasoline powered vehicle that she is happy to share with you.![]()
