I love the wide evenly distributed light output from my LED Lenser P14, but I also love the pocketability of my Fenix LD20. I was wondering would it be possible to put a lens on the end of the Fenix to convert the light output to a wide beam of light similar to the LED Lenser, or would the lens be too far away from the emitter to be any use?

A diffuser should work better then a lens because of the reflector of the light.

That depends on what kind and what material the diffuser is made of.
Some of the better diffusers I've seen seem to have many small lenses which spread out the light pretty evenly.
