Will a P3D run off of 3 volts?

Hi,

I have a P2D and a P3D. My P2D has a very yellow beam, but my P3D has a gorgeous white beam.

I have tried the P3D head on my P2D body with 1 x 3.7 AW RCR123 and it would appear to run great - nice and bright, complete with all the levels, as expected.

So, I thought about selling my P2D to a guy at work who is pretty keen on it. I was thinking about putting the resulting proceeds towards another P2D body and also a 2x AA body, so I would kinda have 3 lights in one, then.

But would the 3-ish volts of just 2 x AA Alkalines be enough to even power up the P3D head, let alone drive it at a reasonable rate?

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

Face

I could do... I have some 14500's laying around.

Would have been handy to be able to use alkalines tho... I have boxes and boxes and boxes of AA Procell cells stockpiled here.

Thanks for the replies,

Although the P3Dce head is really supposed not to be compatible with the L1/2/P2Dce -
the P3D head actually will physically fit on those other bodies.

However the operation is limited or won't work at all when I tried it -

is there a reflector for the p3d that gives less spill and more throw, something to harness all that beasty output.?
