Wine Light?

Sappy wine tasters? Don't care for sappy wines myself. I prefer them a bit drier, actually.

Surefire "wine lights" are limited-edition Surefires produced in a maroon or burgundy anodizing. I've seen only a 1-cell incandescent model, similar to an E1E, but in burgundy.

There's also a 2 cell version.

I have several Surefire lights and love them. I have seen photos of a Surefire that has "Wine Light" on it.

What is this? Please Don't tell me it has something to do with the sappy wine tasters and their cellars.

Thanks,
RL

They come with fancy bread and expensive cheese in the gift box. (just kidding!)

I think it has something to do with the pigment of coloring Surefire used during the anodizing process to manufacture a limited quantity of "dark purple surefires"

I think thats about it...

Id ask Size15s...:grin2:

Yup, they were a series of limited edition E1e (WineLight) and E2e (WineLight II) lights with burgundy anodizing. Also, the Wine Light II came with the MN02 (25 lumen) lamp assembly instead of the MN03 (60 lumen) lamp assembly that normally comes with the E2e.

Here's a photo of the Wine Light II beside a standard E2e:

I understand that the WineLights were made because somebody at SureFire is really into his wines and thought it would be great to have E1e and E2e dressed more appropriately for showing off the finer subtle characteristics of a wine. HA it seems was too 'industrial'.

Why the WineLights? Why not?

I was in CA earlier this year
and saw some of those
burgandy E's at Plaza Cutlery
