wire lead length

Hi all,

I am setting up a led head light with a Buckpuck and 3 Cree XR-E R2.

My question is the distance from battery to light is about 60", what would be the best way to set this up?

1) Run long leads from the Buckpuck to the LEDs (this would be nice as I would make the potentiometer in a convenient location.

2) Run long leads from the battery to the Buckpuck.

Option 1 would be better. According to the Buck Puck data sheet, they recommend adding a cap accross the DC supply if the wire length >18", so this would negate the need for this.

Thats how I'm running my Buck Puck and there doesn't seem to be any issues.
