Do Wolf Eyes 14500 have buttons? I plan to use them in series, but wanted to know if it was a good buy. It's about the same price as AW 14500, but AW 14500s have a thin aluminum strip. Certain AW 14500s make good contact, sometimes they don't. The only Li-Ions with button tops are AW Cs. Doesn't anyone make button top Li-Ions? I hate dealing with the magnets.

i donno, but that "thin aluminum strip" is needed for any "protected" battery, as they have to have some way to run one pole to the other end.

it is "better" to use a solder daub or raise somewhere, then to use a magnet, think about the top of the battery/curcuit there, and that it has the 2 connections , if the magnet should slip after you DROP the light, it could short out, it totally depends on the light, but something to watch for.

The short answer is no...........but they may work in series. I only have one so I can't tell you for sure. I use it in my L1Dce which has a fairly flat positive contact point and the battery make good contact. Also the negative contact of the WE 14500 battery does not have the usual wrapper that goes around the rim and makes the contact in a depression. Instead the negative contact "sticks out" and it looks like it would make contact with the positive end of another WE 14500. Basically both ends will make contact with a flat surface so they should make contact with each other........that's the long answer.

I imagine they'd have to work in series, as xr4fun said, because the multi-cell WE lights don't use magnets or anything. But thats just my .02.

I see... I just received my late, late package from PTS, courtesy of USPS. (Ordered March 25th and just received today, April 7th) The 18500's have a convex negative contact but flat positive contact, and they do make contact in series. I'm thinking I should have just bought all my Li-Ions as Wolf-Eyes brand. Thanks for the replies.

Hi, Paul. I was thinking the same thing until i visited the PTS website. The part number is listed as LRB-AA Li-ion battery used for the Jetbeam light. The capacity is spec'd at 750mAH.
