Talked to Mike over at PTS lights.Light was sent FRI and got here in 2 days.Mine is a Q4 4 stage..high medium low and fast strobe. As usual price was the best around and we even get a nifty CPF discount from Mike.I cant say enough about this guy..TOP NOTCH !!!

Man, I dont know where to start.

I LOVE this light.

Wolf Eyes now has HAIII ( not 2)

In no special order:

Light is hefty like all Wolf Eyes lights.Weighs more then others in its size range.
Fit and finish on mine is 100% flawless.
About 6.5 In long
Enough texture on grip area to never slip.
Tail side has a fluid filled compass that is quite nice.( where clickey is normally)
There is a threaded collar that hides a charging port...no more removing batt to charge...no chance to strip tailcap threads.
I see no reason this light is not quite splashproof.
Threads came lubed.
Glass was clean and spotless..reflector also.
Came in nifty giftbox for those that care about that stuff.
Came precharged and ready to go. I topped it off anyway.
Feel in my hand is just right.
Head and tail side are crown shape.LED side is deep enough and sharp enough to do SERIOUS damage..if needed.I can see this ripping HUGE chunks of flesh off in 1 glancing swipe.
It has flat parts so it will not roll off a table.
WILL tail stand for candle type mode.
MY diffuser works fine in it.
Can use a huge number of D26 options.
168A / fatty 18650s fit right in.

Clickey is in roughly the placement of a M*Glight.Tension is perfect.Button is guarded by a small lip. Lip does NOT get in the way at all.Clickey is FANTASTIC !!! I wish most other lights worked this easy and well.
Button is a reverse clickey..and I adore it on this light.Changing modes is just a 1/2 press away. This works perfect every single try.

Comes with a lanyard..IMO its a bit cheesey and I wont use it.

For Any type of LEO, security and military I recomend this light over ALL others in its size range...YES that means you : Streamlight,Mag,SF,Fenix..the list goes on.

For a house light this is FANTASTIC.Charges super fast and easy.THIS LIGHT IS A TANK !Holding the Guider in my fist I feel like I can punch through brick walls.

Beam is bright bright bright. All stages seem about right.Low is really low. Strobe REALLY annoys.Much brighter then the HO wolfeyes P4 for sure.
Beam shape is....Great for REAL WORLD USE.Those that read my stuff know im no B.S..I dont give a rats *** about a white wall. I use lights for light.
Outside this light has a perfect mix of throw, WIDE spot and spill.

I would tell ANY LEO or Military to own this light..and give way what they use now.

Price is a tad higher then other Wolf Eyes it size.
Is it worth it? HELL yes.

On my Bang-for-the-buck-o-meter I rate this light a 10 of 10
I.M.O. This light is one of a few of MUST HAVE.

I LOVE THIS LIGHT!

Unless some freak breakage happens, I will own this light 4ever!
Another HUGE hit from Wolf Eyes and PTS !!!!

My 2 cents

Just got back from hike with 4 new lights .GUIDER was fantastic.Ran like 2 hours constant with no drop I could detect by eye.

More later

Doing a run time, by eye almost 2.5 hours and I cant detect a lumen loss.
Later I will throw this and a few others in my box for a lumen check.

Hey Fastcar,

Thanks for the review. Once again a no BS report! Are all Wolf Eyes now HAIII or only the new models like the Guider?

Regards,

Allthough NOT advertised:
IT seems ALL new Wolf Eyes lights are HAIII, come lubed and have better ( smoother) threads.

This is a bit off topic, BUT I think it should be here.
**Edit: Any that read my crap know that I try and shoot from the hip.Maybee im ruthless at times....shrug

That said :
Mike at PTS really is a good guy. When I ( or you) call him..he ACTUALLY knows his stuff.MAN I HATE when I goto or call a store and know more about a product then the jerk selling it to me.

Mike takes the time to talk to ya and tell you about new stuff coming soon. You dont get that " used car salesman" feel in you gut.

I guess its the whole thing. Price, cpf discount, super fast shipping. NO BS EVER,if you have any problem..he just fixes it.
I have never been let down once by this guy.I will always goto PTS for sure.
Maybee this **should* be in cheers..but damnit its a PTS mini review.
I do not work for or get paid in anyway from or by PTS.Just speaking my mind.

I rate PTS 10 of 10

I would bet this guy is a marine or mason.

Semper Fi

Dont worry mate, I'm here reading with you!

Think i'm still leaning towards the Raider though for a duty light! Thats why i asked if they are all HAIII now.

Regards,

When I first saw the Guider "on the shelf" I knew I wanted it but resisted....now, after that little review, I'm off to PTS!

Well bins vary a bit.A fantastic Q3 is as good or better then a crappy Q4.Unless you rip the LED out and do all the tests ...you have no idea what ya got really.

I would assume when new bins come out..more are the crappy kind..months later they get better.

Some **say* that the human eye can not detect a brightness change unless its 50% more or less....others say its 20%. Personally I think I can detect less then a 20% change.

ALL this said:

Is it brighter then a good P4..on a meter YES few lumens
Is the run time better if charted YES few mins
Would I say its an " OMFG" huge, night and day difference NO

99% of the time in real world use, our ( cpf) lights are way way way overkill.

I dont like the Guilder (only) because its damn bright. Its just the total package thats great IMO.It just does so much right...others seem to lack this or that.

My key points that I like about Guider:

Built like tank..NO other MFG comes close
More then bright enough
WIDE spot
Wide, bright spill
This thing is back up weapon...the crown on the head side is DEEP and made just right ( I already tested it on a 4x4 piece of wood)
Water resistant
EASY charging...house or car.
First reverse clickey I ever LOVED
EASY mode changes
easy to use..dont need 5 page cliff notes to operate..novatac who?
Levels are just right..low is quite low
Strobe is dead on at 10Hz..same that the military uses.
Having a compass is never a bad thing

All I can say is for Military and LEO or personal use ..this light rocks.
Any cpf..or wife of CPF would feel safe with this light.Strobe easly turned on in 1 second....a 10 year old could take a golfball size chunk of flesh out of an attacker.Wife would feel secure walking dog alone at night.

I will keep this light 4ever for sure.I like every aspect of this light. When I camp or hike this WILL be with me for sure.I gave my Gal a 3 min lesson on how to defend herself with this light.

To me this is the MAGLIGHT of the 2000s.I think every person alive should own one of these for the house/car or Job in the case of LEO/military.

This is a light, tool and piece of mind...I have never said these things about ANY light..im sure I wont ever again.

HUGE thumbs up to Wolf Eyes for making this fantastic light:twothumbs
HUGE thumbs up for Mike at PTS for telling me about this :twothumbs
