Can someone tell me if I buy a Wolf Eyes M90 Rattlesnake rechargeable tactical can I use 4 CR 123 Lithium batteries If I don't have time to charge the 2 LRB 268 Li-ion rechargeables?
I want a rechargeable but I would like to use CR's if I don't have time to charge the batteries.

I also can not figure out why the rechargeable is 200 lumens but the M90X which runs off CR123's is 300 lumens? Please keep it simple.

Should I just go with a 9A and a bulb upgrade to 320 lumens or 380 lumens or will this kill my run time? Oh ya then I will have to pick an LED color for the tail cap.

Optik,
In a Rattlesnake M90 you can use 4 x CR123 but will need to change the globe. If you would like a light you can move between recharge and primaries I suggest a 3 cell light like the Raider.

In the case you refer to the rechargeables are lower voltage. Lumens Factory have high output globes if you wish to use rechargeables.

As above.

A 9A with 320 lumens will give 40 minutes runtime and the 380 lumen lamp 35 minutes runtime. LED tailcap colour? White is the brightest, red dimmest and others in between.

I am sure Mike at PTS can help you with your choices.

plain and simple:
the 12V lamp used for the 4x CR123 is a higher wattage lamp than the 9V lamp used for the rechargable configuration. You can upgrade the 9V configuration to a EO-9L lamp from lumens factory and be at least as bright as the 12V model.

try not to fret to much about lumen ratings. WE lumen ratings are different than WE lumen ratings and should not be compared directly.

If you want to be able to switch back and forth from rechargable to cr123 primaries, definitely consider a 9 series raider with 2x18500s. I suggest the standard non-turbo bezel, consider a LF HO-9 as a nice balance of brightness and runtime. With this you can switch back and forth with no penalty.

Ok thanks for the quick responses. I am finding myself checking these forums more than my e-mail lately.
Anyway back to the 9 Series Raider.
1st Thanks for the heads up on the non-turbo.
2nd I like the setup you suggested with the HO-9.
Can I go to an EO9 if I want or even an LED?
Lastly I have it down to a blue or red led tail cap. (do you use the tail cap just like a Surefire 6P? such as press in, to turn on the Incan, but I'm not sure how you turn on the led's) And just when you thought we were done. Should I be considering a Pila light over the Wolf Eyes?

The EO9 and HO9 will both work with an LED tailcap. The switch works like a 6P except the first part of the twist turns the tailcap on, second the front.

Should you consider a Pila over a Wolf Eyes? Guess what a WE dealer would say to that? Either are good units, buy which you prefer.

Thanks Glen,

I am not to sure I like losing the "push button" factor. I am just to use to it. I looked at the Pila it's just a little to Star Trek looking for me.

I was under the impression from the WE site that with the HO-9L High Output 9V Lamp - 380 Lumen bulb you could run it on it's 2 – 3.7V Rechargeable Batteries or 3 CR123A Batteries With the rechargable M90 Rattlesnake.

I'm personally trying to decide between the HO-9L High Output 9V Lamp - 380 Lumen bulb and the SR-9L Standard 9V Lamp - 320 Lumen bulb for the dual purpose of CR123's and 3.7V Rechargeable Batteries. Also for the best combo of power and run time.

The HO-9L High Output 9V Lamp - 380 Lumen bulb is listed under the Rattle snakes accesories so I'm confused why it would be when the Rattle snake would require 4 123's and the HO-9L bulb is only rated for 3 123's.
I was just about to settle on the Rattlesnake because of the dual battery use and decent runtimes for a 380 lumen set up.

Glen can you please explain to me what this means:
Runtime (3-CR123A batteries): ??? minutes with regulated output, and ??? minutes with unregulated output
I just want to be sure I understand it.

Kentucky, maybe speak to Mike about why the PTS site has it listed like that? The WE site is www.wolf-eyes.com I would give Mike at PTS a call and ask for his help, he is a very helpful guy and will set you on the right path.

Regulated means power is regulated during that period, meaning the light wont dim, after that it drops into unregulated and slowly dims.
