Would output of M3 with HOLA be comparable to US?

My 9P with T-head and N-2 ( 105 Lumen) lamp is about the same if not a little brighter than my US. Now my 9P with an A-19, MN60 (225 Lumen)lamp and T-head is much, much brighter than my US. There is no comparison here it blows it away.

V8toyotaTRK,

The answer to your question depends on what
you mean by brighter. The M3 with the HOLA
does not throw as far as the US, that is for
sure. But it is very bright and has a big
beam.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">This is correct I am using a Turbo Head to get the results I am talking about. With out the T-head the US throws much farther.

The UltraStinger is a "Turbo" flashlight.
It's only fair to compare it to SureFire TurboHead models.

The closet SureFire has to the UltraStinger is the 9AN+KT3. It is 210 mm long compared to the UltraStinger's 296 mm length.

I describe the UltraStinger (focused as best it can) compared to the M3T with MN16 to be like a stab of light compared to a punch of light from the SureFire.

The SRTH with N2 lamp throws a good tight beam that shapes up well against the UltraStinger. The Four cell SF123A lamps increased the beam sizes allowing you to see more of the area (although the UltraStinger allows you to see a bit further down range)

How about comparing the US to similarly priced SureFires?

I might need to pick up one of these US's...

I suggest you wait until there are more reviews of the TigerLight. Short and Compact makes for easier carry then long and thin in my opinion.

The UltraStinger body is far too long. A "double" barrel would be a better option.

Al, you are spot on. The US could be a bit shorter IMO.
Minjin, the US and M3 are only comparable on throw. The M3 is sturdier and more pricey. One is recharge and the other is not. Pick the one that fits your usage better. I went with the US mostly on price but I found that I like the recharge option.

CPF motto: "Buy both".

When you were comparing the lights, at what distance(approximate) does the SF start to fade against the US?
Thanks,
Greg

Alastair's get out for not having an answer is to ask Greg a question:
"I assume you refer to the N2 Lamp Assembly in the SRTH?"

I'll see about getting a range - about two-three tennis courts lengths to my "target" sign at the tree line. It was at this distance I was comparing beams.

Sorry I can't be any help at the moment.

Regards,

Al

I do like the throw of my US, but also like the fact that it is focusable, vs the M3T. At a price of $225+ Might as well save up some more to get a M6.

I am still a bit uncertain about the M3, if you focus a US to about the same width of the M3 light, which one would be brighter?

"I assume you refer to the N2 Lamp Assembly in the SRTH?"
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Al,
Yes sir, that would be correct. There is no pressing need for the range info. I was just curious and thought you might of had it at hand.
Regrds,
Greg
